Divorced Sikh woman kidnaped and raped for 9 months, minority Sikhs and Hindus took to the streets of Pakistan

Lahore: Two men kidnapped a divorced Sikh woman with her child and raped-tortured for 9 months In Pakistan’s Faisalabad district. On Friday, the police freed the woman from the clutches of the kidnappers.

After this incident, minority Hindus and Sikhs have started protesting against the kidnapping and rape of the woman. Sikhs and Hindus alleged that the woman was also forcibly converted to Islam. The rape victim resident of Nankana Sahib in Pakistani Punjab has alleged that her friend Saima introduced her to Khurram Shahzad. Khurram Shahzad had come to Nankana Sahib. After some time, she sent her son to her sister’s house with Khurram Shahzad.

But Khurram and his brother Qizer Shahzad held her son hostage. Then they forced her to come to them in Sohelabad (Faisalabad) to take her son. When the Sikh woman went to Khurram and Qizer, both of them held her hostage as well.

Police arrest kidnappers after protest

After this, both the brothers kept raping her for nine months. They also got her religion converted forcefully. While keeping the woman in captivity, both the brothers tortured her a lot. They also used to beat her. Somehow, the relatives of the Sikh woman came to know about the woman being held hostage.

The relatives informed the police and the police raided on 14th August and recovered the woman and her child from Khurram and Qizer’s house in Sohelabad. Police officials said that a case has been registered against both the brothers.

But Hindus and Sikhs community leader said that after complaint they staged protests. After massive outrage, Police team conducted a raid on the suspects’ house and recovered the mother and her son. Police have also arrested the abductors/rapists after 9 months.

Hindus and Sikhs community leader said that in Pakistan, Muslims kidnap their daughters-in-law and daughters and are forcibly converting them. They have demanded from the government that their security should be strengthened and the accused should be given the harshest punishment.
