Helicopter crash leaves one dead, 12 injured in Afghanistan

Kabul: In a tragic incident of Helicopter crash in Afghanistan, one person was killed whereas 12 others were left injured. The Helicopter crashed in the Firoz Koah, the provincial capital of west Afghanistan’s Ghor province. The accident took place on Wednesday.

The information about the same was shared by provincial government spokesperson Abdul Wahid Hamas.

“The MI-17 model helicopter of the air force, which was busy in a rescue operation to recover bodies from a river in Firoz Koah city this morning, made an emergency landing due to technical problems,” Hamas said, reported Xinhua news agency.

He further added that as a result, one on board the helicopter was killed whereas 12 were injured. The injured were referred to the hospital for treatment.

It is also reported that The chopper was on a mission to retrieve dead bodies of victims from a river crash.

Without providing more details, the official added that an investigation has been initiated into the incident. Information about deceased or injured people is yet to be ascertained.
