Hindu pilgrim on way to Nankana Sahib shot dead

Lahore: According to police reports on Friday, a Hindu pilgrim traveling to the 555th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev in Nankana Sahib was shot and killed by robbers. Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Larkana city in Sindh province, was en route to Nankana Sahib from Lahore in a car with his friend and brother-in-law when they were ambushed by three robbers on the Mananwala-Nankana Sahib Road, approximately 60 km from Lahore.

The gunmen stole Rs 4.5 lakh from the trio and an additional Rs 10,000 from the driver. When Kumar attempted to resist, the robbers opened fire on him before fleeing the scene. He was quickly taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries. A case has been filed against unidentified suspects based on a complaint from Kumar’s brother-in-law.
