MP CM arrives in London on six-day foreign visit, to discuss investment prospects

London: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has arrived in London for a six-day trip aimed at enhancing investment prospects for the state as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ initiative. His arrival was met with a warm welcome from Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, along with members of the Indian community.

The visit, which includes stops in Germany, aims to advance industrial development in Madhya Pradesh and engage with business leaders, industrialists, and government officials to attract global investment. The Chief Minister has requested the High Commission’s assistance for the Global Investors Summit set for February 2025 in Bhopal, emphasizing the goal of positioning Madhya Pradesh as a prime destination for British investors.

Key focus areas for investment include renewable energy, electric vehicles, and food processing. The summit will also feature a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and the Indian diaspora, showcasing how Madhya Pradesh is fostering innovation and economic growth on a global scale.

During his UK leg, CM Yadav plans to visit the British Parliament and lay floral tributes at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Parliament Square. He will also tour King’s Cross and redevelopment sites and meet with industrial organizations and business leaders to discuss enhancing investment and industrial collaboration.

On November 26, he will have breakfast with industrialists and the High Commissioner, followed by a session that will cover investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, targeting sectors such as electric vehicles and renewable energy.

His schedule includes a visit to B.R. Ambedkar House and an engagement at Warwick University to interact with faculty and researchers. After three days in the UK, he will travel to Munich, Germany, on November 28 and 29 for further discussions with Bavarian state leaders and the Consul General of India. He will also participate in an interactive session on investment opportunities, with a significant representation from the Indo-German business community.

Additionally, CM Yadav plans to visit the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart, which houses a vast collection of ancient fossils and dinosaur remains. His trip aims to effectively highlight the investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, building on successful investment sessions previously held in India.
