Musk, his son 'X' join Donald Trump in Oval Office as DOGE executive order is signed

Washington: Tech billionaire Elon Musk was spotted in the Oval Office with his four-year-old son, X, as President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at reducing the federal workforce. Musk, who heads the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), stood beside the President’s Resolute Desk and urged federal agencies to work with DOGE to streamline staff and restrict new hires.

During a lengthy Q&A session, Musk addressed concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest, asserting that his business dealings with the government do not interfere with his role at DOGE. He also acknowledged that “some of the things I say will be incorrect,” referencing past comments on Gaza. The White House shared a video of the meeting on its X social media account, featuring Musk, Trump, and little X.

According to ABC News, “Lil X,” as Musk affectionately calls him, is the youngest child of Musk and Canadian musician Grimes, born in 2020. He has been seen with Musk at various public events, including election night, where Trump described him as “a gorgeous, perfect boy.”

Musk has expressed serious concerns about inefficiencies in the US government’s payment systems, estimating potential fraud exceeding $100 billion annually. He announced on X that the Treasury Department and DOGE have agreed to modify reporting requirements for outgoing government payments. He emphasized the need for all payments to include a categorization code and a rationale in the comment field to improve financial audits, stating that these fields are often left blank, complicating the audit process.
