United States: Amid Israel’s attacks on Gaza, Palestine supporters demonstrated outside the White House, the official residence of the President in the US, on Saturday.
People were seen waving the Palestinian flag with Hamas ties on their heads. During this, a person protesting also had a mask of President Biden in his hand, which was stained with blood.
The protesters also set the US flag on fire. People also had many banners and posters in their hands. In this, Biden was accused of being on the wrong side of history. The protesters raised slogans for a free Palestine. He said that the screams of the children who have lost their lives in the bombing of Gaza will always scare you.
The protesters also threw items at the National Park Service Rangers. Apart from this, the statue installed there was also vandalized. They demanded an end to America’s support for Israel. In view of the protest, security was increased near the White House.
While on one hand there are protests outside the White House, on the other hand Biden has been on a state visit to France for the last 4 days. Apart from Biden, Sunak and Jinping also reached France for the programs related to the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the historic day of the Second World War.
Protests have been held in 50 universities of America so far
Amid the 8-month-long war between Israel and Hamas, protesters have been seen protesting against the war in different places of America. In April, students protested for a month in 50 universities of America. During this time they also took over the Hamilton Building of the University of California.
However, the police freed the building from the protesters within 2 hours. In this demonstration, the police arrested more than 2 thousand people. After this, about 1 week ago, Palestine supporters occupied a museum in New York.
These protesters demanded that America stop supporting Israel in the war. Apart from this, universities should separate from those companies which make profits from Israel. The students of New York University demanded that the Tel Aviv campus of the university be closed, because Palestinian students are not given admission here.
