Ukraine will attack Russian army with American weapons: President Joe Biden gave approval, decision taken after Putin’s threat

United States: Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war, US President Joe Biden has given Ukraine permission to use its weapons against Russia.

According to news agency AP, US officials said on Friday (May 31) that Ukraine can use the US ATACMS missile to protect Kharkiv from the Russian army. Its range is 300 kilometers.

US officials said that Ukraine can directly attack the Russian army with these weapons. However, they should not be used inside the Russian border.

Russia intensified attacks in Kharkiv from May 10. After this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had sought permission from the US and Western countries to use the weapons given by them against Russia.

The US had earlier refused to allow Ukraine to use its weapons against Russia. The US feared that if its weapons were used against Russia, Russia would consider it a direct attack by the US.

‘There was no formal ban on the use of weapons on Ukraine even before’ US officials said that there was no formal ban on the use of American weapons by Ukraine even before.

However, there was a fear that if these were used against Russia, Putin could take tough steps. At the same time, earlier in the week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had said that our foreign policy changes or transforms with time.

This decision has been taken when two days ago Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the countries giving weapons to Ukraine. Putin had said that the country from which Ukraine attacks Russia with the weapons received, that country will have to face serious consequences.

Western countries also approved the use of weapons Four days ago, some Western countries had asked Ukraine to use weapons against Russia.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkeviks was the first to give permission for this. After this Britain and Sweden also did the same. Apart from this, a few days ago Britain sent long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine. This missile can travel up to 250 km inside Russia. Not only this, Sweden has also sent the technology of self-activated cannons to Ukraine.
