US Ambassador Eric Garcetti Visited Sri Harmandir Sahib, Met SGPC President Dhami Discuss On Sikh Issues

Amritsar: US Ambassador Eric Garcetti today visited Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. US Ambassador paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib and then talked to Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee officials and head Harjinder Singh Dhami on Sikh issues.

Both SGPC President and US Ambassador Had a discussion about their experience and relationship with Sikh and Punjabi communities. Mr. Garcetti told that he comes from California state where a large number of Sikh and Punjab community Peoples are contributing to the development and growth of USA.

He also shared that during his childhood his parents used to tell him stories about their visit to Sri Harmandir Sahib and today he expressed his feelings after visiting here by himself. Mr. Garcetti also appreciated the contribution of Sikh community in USA, in serving the humanity during the COVID pandemic.

SGPC President Dhami have urged US Ambassador to look for the possibilities to start direct flights between USA and Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport, as this will largely benefit the Sikh and Punjabi communities in USA and India, who presently have to travel to and from Delhi to reach their destination.

He Said If direct US flights are started to and from Amritsar, it will benefit people by saving their time, money and harassment in traffic. US Ambassador assured that he would discuss the matter.
