Biden announces enhanced U.S military deployments to support Israel amid Iranian threats

White House (US): US President Joe Biden discussed new American military deployments to counter Iranian threats of direct attack against Israel during a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night, the White House said

The talks come as the area braces for retaliation by Hezbollah and Hamas for the assassinations of two of their senior member earlier this week.

We are currently studying the response with other resistance groups, Tel Aviv will regret this crime” said the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran.

Iran will launch the initial attack against Israel, with the help of Iraq, Yemen and Syria. Cities and infrastructure targets will be attacked first, and then Hezbollah from the sources.

As per the reports, Israel is on high alert as it prepares for a possible large-scale attack from Iran and its proxies. Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions are underway.

UN confirms Iran has ‘right to attack Israel’: Iran has officially informed the United Nations of its intention to carry out retaliatory action against Israel in self-defence, citing Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The White House said in a statement after the call that President Biden reaffirmed his commitment to Israel’s security against all threats from Iran, including its proxy terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. Together with this commitment to Israel’s defence, the US President also stressed the importance of ongoing efforts to de-escalate broader tensions in the region. US Vice President Kamala Harris also joined the call.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has geared up for any Iranian assault against Israel after the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday. Sources in the Israeli Defence Minister’s office said after Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s remarks about a retaliatory attack on Israel to avenge the killing of Haniyeh, the Israel Defense Forces has prepared itself for any eventuality.
