New Delhi: Ishan Kishan, despite being an international player, is known for his humble nature. During a tournament in Kolkata, he chose to travel in an e-rickshaw with teammates instead of using a personal car, reflecting his grounded personality.
Discipline First, No Exceptions
As part of team culture, Kishan introduced a strict rule — any player arriving late for the team bus had to pay a ₹1000 fine. He enforced this rule equally for everyone, showing his commitment to discipline and fairness.
Leadership Role at SunRisers Hyderabad
These qualities have now brought him into a leadership role at Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he is set to take over captaincy temporarily as Pat Cummins recovers from injury.
Positive Dressing Room Culture
While captaining Jharkhand, Kishan focused on maintaining a positive team environment. He ensured no public criticism by coaches and encouraged players to stay confident even after poor performances, making the dressing room a supportive space.
