Patna: Three people have been arrested in Bihar’s Jamui after a disturbing video showing a young couple allegedly being harassed by a group surfaced on social media, prompting police action.
According to police, the incident took place in Jamui and involved two young people who were allegedly stopped and harassed by a group. The video, which circulated widely online, showed the woman being surrounded and allegedly groped while the man accompanying her was also confronted.
Jamui Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Dayal said police had contacted the woman and were examining the video to identify those involved. Police have now arrested three people in connection with the incident.
Disturbing Video Shows Couple Being Harassed
The video shows the couple being surrounded by several people. One person is seen holding the man by his collar and pulling him away from the woman.
The woman attempts to move away, but a masked man follows her and appears to grab her from behind. She can be heard screaming and resisting the alleged harassment.
The woman’s friend later breaks free and attempts to help her. The two then move towards their two-wheeler, but the group follows them. At one point, the woman is again seen being grabbed by the arm while pleading with the men to let them go.
The precise circumstances that led to the confrontation are being investigated by police.

The video triggered widespread concern on social media, with users tagging Bihar Police and urging authorities to identify and take action against those involved.
Jamui Police began examining the footage and working to identify the people seen in it. Three suspects have since been arrested, while the investigation into the incident continues.
Other reports have stated that the two people in the video were minors and that their statements were recorded by police. An FIR has also been reported under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
