Punjab CM Mann to Inaugurate Rural Link Roads in Majitha Today

Anandpur Sahib: The Punjab government has decided to rename the Jhajjar Bachauli Wildlife Sanctuary after Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The Standing Committee of the Punjab State Wildlife Board approved the decision. The 289-acre sanctuary will now be known as the Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Wildlife Sanctuary. This decision was made on the recommendation of Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

The sanctuary is located in Anandpur Sahib.

Jhajjar-Bachauli Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Sri Anandpur Sahib in the Rupnagar district of Punjab. It is approximately 15 kilometers from Anandpur Sahib and stretches along the Sutlej River. This sanctuary was created to protect the forest and animals. Trees such as khair, shisham, neem, and amla trees keep the area lush.

Sanctuary to Be Known as Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Wildlife Sanctuary

The sanctuary is home to animals such as nilgai, deer, wild boar, and jackals. This site is a popular destination for wildlife conservationists and nature watchers. The government also plans to develop it as a tourist destination.

Renaming Coincides With 350th Martyrdom Anniversary

The Punjab government is currently celebrating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. A grand ceremony was organized by the government in Sri Anandpur Sahib. A conference of all religious saints was also held during this ceremony, as Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s head was buried here after his martyrdom.

Anandpur Sahib Declared Holy City Earlier

On November 24th, the Punjab government held a special assembly session outside Chandigarh for the first time. During this session, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced Sri Anandpur Sahib, as holy city. He then announced the construction of a world-class university in Anandpur Sahib, named after Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji.
