A road accident took place on National Highway 152-D near Lajwana Kalan village of Julana in Jind district on Saturday morning. The car of the devotees going to Khatu Shyam temple was hit by a truck. In this incident, 3 people, including a woman, died on the spot, while 2 women were seriously injured. The police have reached the spot and started investigation.

Dharampal Vasan, a resident of Sector-8 Part-2 in Karnal, was going to visit Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan by car with his wife, sister-in-law and the family of his brother-in-law Rajkumar, a resident of Sector 13. A dog suddenly came in front of his car on NH-152D near Lajwana Kalan village. The front part of the car was damaged in an attempt to save him.

The truck overturned after the accident.

After the car was damaged, all the devotees got down from the vehicle and took stock of the situation. At the same time, a speeding truck coming from behind hit the parked car hard. The deceased have been identified as Dharampal, 45, and his 50-year-old father-in-law, Rajkumar, 40, both residents of Karnal.

Neetu (40) and Ritu (42) were seriously injured in the accident. He was immediately taken to the Community Health Centre in Julana. Seeing his critical condition after first aid, the doctors referred him to a higher medical centre. At the same time, after the death of three people of the same family, mourning has spread in the family. As soon as the information was received, other family members present at home reached Jind. The police are currently conducting post-mortem of the deceased.

The Julana police station inspected the spot and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem. The police have informed the family about the incident. Police are searching for the truck driver and are investigating the cause of the accident. Locals have demanded control over speeding vehicles on the national highway and effective road safety arrangements.
