The notorious Lawrence gang killed Kabaddi player Gurvinder Singh in Samrala, Ludhiana, Punjab. The Lawrence gang claimed responsibility for the murder the day after the murder. The gang shared a post on social media regarding this.
In the post, the gang wrote that he was supporting their enemies. They also threatened to shoot anyone supporting them in the chest. “Such people should step back, or we know how to eliminate them,” they said.

Kabaddi player Gurvinder was a resident of Manki village. Bike-borne assailants opened fire indiscriminately on Gurvinder and his companion, Dharampal, killing Gurvinder and also injuring Dharampal.
Police say the murder stems from personal enmity. The accused have been identified as Sandeep Singh, Teji (resident of Chak Sarai, Khanna), Karan (resident of Madpur), and Simmi (resident of Baliyon). However, no arrests have been made yet.
The family has not yet performed the last rites of the kabaddi player. They say they will not perform the last rites until the killers are caught.
