New Delhi: The survivor in the Kalkaji rape case has given police a detailed account of the events surrounding the alleged incident, describing how she and her male friend were approached by three men who allegedly posed as police personnel at a park near Kalkaji Temple.
According to her statement, the survivor had visited Kalkaji Temple with her friend on her birthday and later went to a nearby park after planning to visit the ISKCON Temple.
Survivor Describes How Men Approached Them
The survivor told police that she left home around 5 p.m. in an auto-rickshaw and reached Kalkaji Temple at around 5:45 p.m. She and her friend remained at the temple until around 7 p.m. before leaving.
She said they bought chips and a bottle of water outside Kalkaji Metro Station and entered the park through Gate No. 7.
According to her statement, she told her friend that they should sit in the park for some time, eat the chips and then proceed to the ISKCON Temple.
She alleged that shortly after they sat on a bench, three men aged around 30 to 35 approached them. The men allegedly grabbed and slapped her friend before identifying themselves as police personnel.
The survivor told police that the men took their mobile phones and separated her from her friend. She alleged that two of the men then took her to an isolated part of the park, where they threatened and assaulted her.
Survivor Alleges Gun Threat And Sexual Assault
In her statement, the survivor alleged that one of the men asked another man, identified as Asif, to take out a gun. She described Asif as wearing a purple shirt and appearing to be the most heavily built of the three.
According to her account, Asif took out a black-coloured gun and later put it back in his pocket.
She further alleged that all three men were involved in the sexual assault and subsequently warned her and her friend against disclosing the incident.
The survivor said the men later returned their phones and took them out of the park. She then told her friend what had happened, following which he contacted the police control room. Police subsequently reached the location, according to the statement.
Accused Phones Sent For FSL Examination
Meanwhile, Delhi Police on Thursday sent the mobile phones of the three accused in the Aastha Kunj gang rape case to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) as part of the investigation into their alleged digital activity and conspiracy.
Police sources said investigators suspect that the accused may have recorded videos of the 17-year-old survivor. Several pornographic videos have also reportedly been recovered from the mobile phone of accused Asif.
According to sources, the search histories of the other two accused, Mukesh and Hemant, had allegedly been deleted.
Investigators are examining the digital activity and footprints of all three accused to establish their movements, communication and activities before and after the alleged incident.
