New Delhi: Deepti Chaurasia (40), daughter-in-law of Kamal Kishore, owner of Kamal Pasand and Rajshree Pan Masala, committed suicide on Tuesday evening in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar.
Meanwhile, Deepti’s family is filing a complaint of abetment to suicide.
Marriage, Family and Alleged Reason
Deepti was married to Kamal Kishore’s son, Harpreet Chaurasia, in 2010. They have a 14-year-old son.
Reportedly, it is speculated that Deepti committed suicide because of Harpreet’s second marriage. As per the reports, Harpreet married a South Indian film actress.
Police Investigation Underway
The Vasant Vihar Police have registered a case in connection to the matter and are investigating the case.
According to reports, her body was found hanging from a scarf. Unconfirmed reports suggest a suicide note was recovered from the scene, but police are currently withholding any names or details.
Background of Kamal Pasand Business Empire
Kamal Pasand’s business spans from Kanpur, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. He is the owner of the famous pan masala company, Kamala Pasand. Kamala Kant Chaurasia started his gutkha business in the Fieldkhana neighborhood of Kanpur.
About 40-45 years ago, he used to sell loose pan masala from a kiosk, but today his company has a turnover of billions of rupees.
