A 44-year-old man from Karnataka was allegedly murdered in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). His body was found inside a car after being missing for nearly two months. According to reports, the body was cut into 9 pieces and placed in the car.
The deceased has been identified as Alvin Prakash Kunder, a resident of Kundapura in Udupi district, Karnataka. He had been working at Sharjah International Airport for nearly 14 years.
Family becomes suspicious after phone goes off
According to reports, Alvin’s brother Anil Prashanti called him on July 20, but he didn’t answer. Subsequently, a message appeared on his phone stating that he was fine. The family found this message suspicious.
After Alvin was not contacted for nearly a week, the family contacted a friend living in Sharjah and asked him to inquire about his whereabouts.
When the friend arrived at Alvin’s home, the security guard informed them that he had left for India with his family. His employer also initially believed Alvin had left.
However, the family stated that Alvin had not returned to India. Subsequently, the company checked his passport records, which reportedly revealed that he had never left the UAE. A missing person’s report was subsequently filed with the Sharjah Police.
Body found in a car near the road to Oman
During the investigation, police reportedly found Alvin’s body inside a car parked on the road to Oman.
According to reports, he had been stabbed in the chest and his body had been cut into nine pieces. These pieces were reportedly placed in two bags and placed inside the car.
Police investigating CCTV footage
Investigators also examined footage from CCTV cameras installed around Alvin’s apartment. According to reports, the footage showed two men and a woman leaving the apartment.
Police are now investigating who was involved in the murder and what motivated the crime.
Alvin’s wife, Tina, worked as a teacher in Sharjah, while their son was studying in the 10th grade. Police are investigating all aspects of the case.
