Shimla, May 2: A huge tree fell on the road near the ISBT and IPH office at Tutikandi bifurcation in Himachal’s capital Shimla today. Due to this, three vehicles parked on the roadside were damaged.
It is a matter of good fortune that no pedestrian or bus or other vehicle carrying passengers came under its grip. But the vehicles parked on the roadside have suffered a lot of damage.
The highway was completely closed for vehicles due to the tree that fell at around 12 noon and it could be restored after three hours. By then, long queues of vehicles were formed on both sides of the road. People also had to face problems due to this. School children reached their homes on foot.
Buses going to other states and other areas of the state are late
Due to the jam caused by the tree falling on the road, many buses going from ISBT to other states and other areas of the state were also delayed. The local administration cut the tree and removed it from the middle of the road.
Tree was uprooted due to heavy rain and storm
Let us tell you that it has been raining heavily in Shimla since this morning. During this time, strong winds are also blowing intermittently. Due to this, a big tree fell on the road during the rain.
