Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Harjinder Singh Dhami has received religious punishment for abusing former SGPC president and Shiromani Akali Dal rebel leader Bibi Jagir Kaur. Today, advocate Dhami appeared before five Pyaras at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He also served in Joda Ghar.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Harjinder Singh Dhami also apologized to former SGPC president and Shiromani Akali Dal rebel leader Bibi Jagir Kaur. In this matter, Punjab State Women Commission had sent a summon to Dhami, after which he appeared before Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Raj Lali Gill and apologized in writing.
The Panj Pyare (five high Sikh Preists) from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Wednesday sentenced the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to religious punishment in the Bibi Jagir Kaur case. The Singh Sahibs sentenced Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami to clean shoes and wash utensils.
In the conversation, Dhami used abusive words for former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur. Taking cognizance of the viral audio, the State Women Commission had asked Dhami to come to its office in Mohali by December 17 and give an explanation. Dhami had given a written reply to the commission. He had also given a reply to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, apologizing to Bibi Jagir Kaur and all the women. While submitting the apology letter, he said that the order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib will be accepted.
