Kotakpura : Five persons including two women were killed in a terrible collision between a Tata S and a trolley near Panjgrain Khurd, a village near Kotakpura, at two o’clock on Friday morning, while 8 people were seriously injured, who were admitted to the hospitals of Faridkot and Kotakpura.
They all were residents of Marad Kalan village of Muktsar, who were returning in a Tata S vehicle after paying obeisance at a religious place in Nigaha village of Bagha Purana when a speeding vehicle coming from the front near Panjgarin Khurd hit them.
The deceased have been identified as Sukhdev Raj (38), Lovepreet (22), Karamjit Kaur wife Suresh Kumar (36), Karamjit Kaur wife Sukhchain Singh (35), Deepak Kumar (27). All the deceased are residents of village Marad Kalan of Muktsar.
Suresh Kumar, the husband of the deceased woman, said that the accident took place while returning from Nigaha. Congress leader Ajay Pal Sandhu, a resident of the village, said that 5 families have been damaged by this accident.
