All educational institutions will remain closed in Jalandhar on 23rd  February

Jalandhar : Holiday has been declared in government and non-government educational institutions of Jalandhar city on the occasion of Shobha Yatra on 23rd February on the occasion of 647th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas.     

In this regard, Aam Aadmi Party MP from Jalandhar Sushil Rinku met District Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Tuesday and in view of the large number of people participating in the Shobha Yatra and the sentiments of the people, demanded a full day holiday in Jalandhar city so that the Sangat, a large number of people, can participate in the Shobha Yatra on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Ravidas Ji.

MP Rinku said that the district administration has also been asked to provide facilities to the crowd during the Shobha Yatra, make adequate arrangements for transportation, make security arrangements and ensure cleanliness of the city, for which the district administration is working.

Meanwhile, according to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Shobha Yatra is being organized in Jalandhar city dedicated to Prakash Parv on 23 February, due to which changes have been made in many transport routes so that people do not face any kind of problem.

According to the order issued, for the convenience of the people and school/college students on this day, there will be a holiday on 23rd February in all government/non-government schools/colleges within the Jalandhar city limits. It has also been clarified that these orders will not be applicable to those educational institutions in whose schools/colleges board/university examinations are scheduled on the said date.
