Anupam Kher takes his friends on impromptu holiday in Thailand

Mumbai: Veteran actor Anupam Kher, known for his recent role in the streaming film ‘Vijay 69’, has been reflecting on his childhood memories.

Over the weekend, he shared a video on Instagram featuring himself with his childhood friends, revealing that he took them on an unexpected vacation to Thailand.

In his post, Kher expressed the deep bond he shares with his friends, highlighting their enduring friendship despite life’s challenges. He wrote, “Me, Vijay Sehgal, Anil Sharma, and Satish Malhotra were all raised in Shimla and have maintained our friendship for 55 years, even as we became grandparents! My brother Raju is now part of our group. In smaller towns, it’s common for an older brother’s friends to become close with his younger brother.”

He also described the whirlwind trip, saying, “We live in different cities but keep in touch. Last week, I surprised them with a five-day vacation to #Thailand, and luckily, everyone’s families supported my spontaneous plan. Here are glimpses of our holiday! These are some of the happiest days of our lives. Remember, ‘You won’t get life again’! All hail! #Childhood.”

Earlier, Kher took a nostalgic look back at his life, sharing various photos and recounting his 40-year journey in the film industry, along with the hardships he faced. He reminisced about Casa Maria in Bandra, where he lived while filming his debut movie, ‘Saaransh,’ and his experiences at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, where he first sought acting work upon arriving in Mumbai in 1981, only to find that there was no actual school or building—classes were held on the beach.
