BJP’s Sanjay Jaiswal slams Mahagathbandhan, predicts NDA win with over 220 seats in Bihar

Patna: BJP senior leader and four-time Lok Sabha MP from West Champaran, Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, launched a strong attack on the Congress and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) during a press conference in Patna on Monday. He described them as “brainless,” “unbalanced,” and “corrupt.”

Jaiswal alleged that the Congress is heavily influenced by foreign powers. “They lack intelligence and stability. They receive funding from abroad and speak the language of foreign interests,” he claimed.

He also dismissed the Mahagathbandhan’s efforts, calling their meetings insignificant and accusing them of only wanting to seize power and distribute it among themselves. “Their alliance is aimless; nothing concrete will emerge from it,” he added. The BJP leader pointed out that many politicians with corruption charges are from the INDI alliance.

Downplaying the importance of the alliance not having an announced chief ministerial candidate, Jaiswal said, “It doesn’t matter whether they have finalized a face or not.”

Expressing confidence in the NDA’s prospects, Jaiswal predicted a clear majority for his alliance, stating, “We are united and confident. With the support of the people, we will win over 220 seats and secure a three-fourths majority.”

He also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, asserting that the Congress must accept responsibility for what he called “dark chapters” in India’s history, including the violence of 1984 and the partition-related killings of Hindus and Sikhs in 1947.

Jaiswal’s comments reflect the BJP’s aggressive campaign as Bihar heads into the crucial assembly elections later this year. The opposition, comprising the Congress and the Mahagathbandhan, has yet to respond, which could lead to a robust electoral contest. The INDI alliance has declared its intention to contest all 243 seats in the upcoming polls, presenting a united front.
