Amritsar: The central government will acquire land from approximately 321 villages in Punjab and Haryana for the bullet train running from Delhi to Amritsar. Farmers whose land will be acquired will receive amounts five times higher than the market value. A survey for this purpose is now being conducted on a war footing. The survey work for this high-speed rail line is underway at a rapid pace in both states. The bullet train will cover the 465 kilometers from Delhi to Amritsar in just 2 hours.
This train will stop at 15 stations, including Chandigarh, along the route from Delhi to Amritsar. The maximum speed of the bullet train will be 350 km/h, with a running speed of 320 km/h and an average speed of 250 km/h. Additionally, the train will accommodate approximately 750 passengers. A total of 343 villages will have land acquired across Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab, including 22 villages in Delhi, 135 villages in Haryana, and 186 villages in Punjab.
