Cashless tickets in Himachal buses soon, agreement between HRTC and State Bank

Shimla : Himachal Road Transport Corporation is soon going to start cashless facility for payment of fare inside its buses. Through this medium, apart from paying the fare inside the buses in cash, passengers can also pay through debit card, UPI and NCMC card.

Rohan Chand Thakur, Managing Director, Himachal Road Transport Corporation says that an agreement has been signed between Himachal Road Transport Corporation and State Bank of India for this facility.

Cashless payment at ticket machines inside buses will be accepted through Credit, Debit cards and UPI in the first phase through State Bank of India. He said that in the first phase this facility will be started in Shimla local depot. After this, it will be implemented in a phased manner at all places in the state.

Advantages: Avoidance of loose change for bus fare. Avoidance of disputes between conductors and passengers due to loose change. Passengers getting fare exemption will start their journey at zero fare, so that the Transport Corporation will be able to assess the concessions.
