Jaipur, May 4: Most of the districts of Rajasthan have been cloudy since Sunday morning. Strong winds blew in Tonk in the morning. This has given relief to the people from the heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms and rain in 10 districts and a yellow alert in 23 districts. Not only this, an alert has also been issued that the storms will continue till May 7.
Earlier, lightning struck three houses simultaneously in Thanwala village of Ahor in Jalore late Saturday night. The water tank placed on the roof of a house burst. The electricity meters and electric equipment of all three houses were burnt. During this time, hailstorms also occurred along with heavy rain. Phalodi also received rain late at night. This led to waterlogging at many places.
Cool night due to rain and a storm
In many cities of the state, due to storm, rain and hailstorm on Saturday afternoon, the day as well as night temperature dropped. Last night, the temperature was recorded below 25 degrees Celsius in most of the cities. The lowest minimum temperature of 19.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Jawai area near Pali.
People troubled by humidity and heat got relief in Barmer. Here the mercury dropped to 20.9 degrees Celsius last night. The minimum temperature in Jaipur was 23.8, in Jaisalmer 23.2, in Pilani (Jhunjhunu) 22.4, in Tonk 22.1, in Jodhpur 21.9, in Ajmer-Sikar 21.5, in Bikaner 21.4, in Alwar 20.4 degrees Celsius.
Chittorgarh experienced the highest heat in Rajasthan
Chittorgarh experienced the highest heat during the day yesterday. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 43.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature was recorded above 40 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, Jodhpur, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Bhilwara, Kota, Jaisalmer, Nagaur and Ajmer.
After intense heat, the weather changed in many districts including Jaipur, Nagaur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar on Saturday afternoon. After the clouds covered the sky, there was a strong storm. It rained in Tonk, Jaipur, Sikar, Kota, Nagaur and some other districts and hail fell at some places.
In Jaipur, after the storm, the rain caused the mercury to drop by 10 degrees
Due to the change in weather in the capital Jaipur on Saturday afternoon, the temperature dropped by 10 degrees Celsius. If we look at the report of the Automatic Weather System, the temperature in Jaipur had reached 35 degrees Celsius by 2.30 pm, but by around 4:30 pm, the mercury dropped to 25.7 degrees Celsius. After strong dusty winds in Jaipur, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurred at many places.
