CM Mohan Yadav's surprise night inspection of cancer hospital

Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav surprised everyone with a late-night visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Center (JNHRC) in Bhopal, according to officials on Friday.

During his visit on Thursday night, the CM engaged with several cancer patients at the facility, inquiring about their health and examining the medical services being offered. He spoke with patients from various regions of the state, including Pawan Kumar Jain, Roop Singh, Ramkaran Kushwaha, Sanat Kumar, Kalavati, and Mukesh Kalam.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s office noted that Yadav announced the state government would cover the treatment costs for Tara Pandey, a patient from Sidhi district belonging to an economically disadvantaged background. He also guided the medical staff to expedite the process of facilitating financial assistance for patients from the economically weaker section (EWS).

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring quality treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses. “The government has shown sensitivity in providing facilities for effective treatment. If necessary, we can arrange air ambulance services for critical patients,” he stated.

Yadav instructed medical staff to utilize the state’s air ambulance service to transport seriously ill cancer patients to other hospitals when required. This service includes helicopters equipped with specialized doctors, paramedics, and ICU facilities in every district.

“The state is dedicated to improving healthcare access, ensuring that no patient is deprived of treatment due to financial constraints,” CM Yadav added. He highlighted that free testing and medications are provided at government hospitals, and citizens benefit from medical treatment through Ayushman cards.

Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital and Research Center is recognized as the largest oncology facility in the state.
