Congress deputy mayor Rajesh Mehta joins BJP in Ambala

Ambala: The trend of leaders changing parties continues amidst the municipal elections in Haryana. In this sequence, now another Congress leader has joined the BJP. Ambala Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor and senior Congress leader Rajesh Mehta has joined the BJP saying goodbye to the Congress under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Saini. Former BJP minister Aseem Goyal has given this information by sharing a photo on his social media platform.

At the same time, a statement of PWD Minister Rao Narbir has come to light. In which, while addressing the public from the stage, he is saying that “Whenever you vote or even if you don’t vote, the mayor will be from BJP only.”

Actually, Rao Narbir had come to Daulatabad village in Gurugram to seek votes in favour of the BJP candidate. During this, he reprimanded the public. He said that “The people of Daulatabad had a false impression that Hooda would become the Chief Minister. They were mistaken.”

Not only this, during this time he also said that “We have government in center and state and if you still do not vote then you will stop your own work.”

On the other hand, due to the municipal elections, there will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor on March 1, 2 and 12, these days will be observed as dry days. Orders have been issued by the government in this regard.

The order issued by the Excise Department said that all liquor shops, bars and pubs located within a distance of 3 km from the municipal corporation areas where elections are to be held will remain closed a day before the polling, on the day of polling and on the day of counting.

The department will take strict action

The department has said that all the liquor license holders in the state have been informed in this regard. Liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other establishments selling or serving liquor located in the areas of municipal bodies will not be allowed to sell or serve liquor to anyone on March 1, March 2 and March 12. If anyone violates these orders, strict action will be taken against him.

Voting on 2 and 9 March

Voting will be held in 40 bodies including 7 municipal corporations in Haryana on 2 March, while voting in Panipat Municipal Corporation will be held on 9 March. The results of all places will come together on 12 March. The code of conduct was implemented in the state with the announcement of elections.

During this period, the government is prohibited from making transfers at its own level and issuing tenders for development works. Permission has to be taken from the commission first for transfer. However, the old development works can continue.
