Gau rakshaks caught and thrashed a smuggler carrying 12 cows near Punjabi Bagh on Pathankot highway in Jalandhar. The police has taken the said person into custody. Gau rakshaks alleged that the same person was caught a few days ago as well.
But the smuggler came out on bail and started cow smuggling again. The cow protectors have alleged that there was a Fortuner car ahead of the truck, which fled from there after seeing them. The police of Maksudan police station has started the process of registering an FIR in the case.
Gau Rakshak said- seeing the police, the accused drove away the car
The cow protector said- At around 1.30 am, information was received that the said person was bringing cows from Sangrur side. He had to go to Mukeria. On the basis of the information, the cow protectors immediately along with the police set up a trap near Pathankot Chowk. On the basis of the trap, when they saw the said truck in the morning, the police signaled it to stop.
But instead of stopping the truck, the smuggler drove away from there. The matter did not end here, the smuggler also tried to damage the vehicle of the police personnel.
SHO said- FIR will be registered
Seeing that he was being chased, the accused turned his truck towards Punjabi Bagh. The lane in which he turned turned out to be closed. After which, with the help of the police, the smuggler was caught and the information about the case was given to the police of Maqsuda police station. The police took the truck into custody and started further investigation.
SHO of Maqsuda police station said- At present an FIR is being registered in the case. After investigation, the next and previous links will be investigated.
