Maharashtra: The Chief Minister of Mahrastra Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday in a scatching attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, labelling him as an “icon of corruption”.

Speaking with the reporters  Devendra Fadnavis said, “I want to congratulate the people of Delhi for making BJP win in Delhi after 27 years. This is the faith they have shown in PM Narendra Modi’s leadership and his work. People of Delhi have also exposed AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for indulging the politics of lies. He became the icon of corruption.”

He also said that the people of Delhi have exposed Kejriwal for indulging in “politics of lies” while showing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The Maharashtra CM assured that faith shown by people in the national capital will not go to waste.

“The faith bestowed upon the BJP by the people of Delhi will not go to waste. I assure the people of Delhi that BJP will bring change,” Fadnavis said.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), predicting its “disintegration” over Arvind Kejriwal’s monopoly on decision making.

 He further accused the AAP of “fooling” people in Delhi during 10 years of their rule.

Speaking to media, Puri stated, “They (AAP) tried to fool the people of Delhi for 10 years and did not even give the people what they could have given. AAP will disintegrate in its current form because the control is with Kejriwal. You ask Atishi, how much freedom to make decisions she has.”

According to the latest update from the ECI, BJP is ahead on 48 seats, having won 41 and leading on seven seats. While, AAP is ahead on 22, having won 20 and leading on two seats. Congress has failed to even open its account in the Delhi elections for the third straight time.

Polling for the 70-member Assembly was held on February 5, with a total voter turnout recorded at 60.54 per cent.
