Delhi Police deports eight illegal Bangladeshi immigrants

New Delhi: On December 29, the Delhi Police reported the deportation of eight Bangladeshi nationals, including six children, who were living in the capital without valid documentation. This operation, led by the South West District Police, addresses concerns over unauthorized immigrants in the Vasant Kunj region.

Under the guidance of ACP Satyajeet Sarin and SHO Arvind Pratap Singh, officers from the Vasant Kunj South Police Station conducted a door-to-door verification drive, checking nearly 400 families and collecting documents for further scrutiny. They sent verification forms (Parcha-12) to West Bengal for authentication and dispatched a special team to manually verify suspect cases.

Among those apprehended was Jahangir, a resident of Dhaka, who admitted to entering India via jungle routes and trains. After settling in Rangpuri, he brought his wife, Parina Begum, and their six children—Jahid, Ahid, Sirajul, Fatima, Ashima, and Wahid—to Delhi, concealing their identities by destroying their Bangladeshi IDs.

The deportation was carried out following legal protocols, with assistance from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). This action follows recent similar cases, including the deportation of a 50-year-old man from R.K. Puram and a 28-year-old woman who had been living in Delhi and Mumbai for six years.
