Farmers to march towards Delhi today; Govt will be responsible for the violence, says Pandher

New Delhi : Farmers on Monday rejected the Centre’s proposal for government agencies to provide MSP on pulses, maize and cotton for five years. Thousands of farmers continue “Delhi Chalo” March to make a claim for MSP for all crops.

Protesting farmers currently camping on the Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border on Tuesday announced the continuation of their agitation after the failure of the fourth round of talks with the central government. The march is expected to affect life in and around Delhi, as security checkpoints set up by authorities to stop protesting farmers could trigger traffic chaos.

Sarwan Singh Pandher said the protest march must be allowed to proceed to Delhi peacefully. Meanwhile, Haryana police arrested some farmers in Manesar today. Farmer’s leaders said “Now the ball is in the centre’s court, the center should accept our demands. Because one or two lakh crore rupees is not much amount and let us peacefully march towards delhi otherwise they will be responsible for this violence. Even before our arrival, they have barricaded and closed the national highway.”

Farmer leaders also said that they will move towards Delhi peacefully. Center should accept their demands. The government should remove the barricade and allow farmers to go to Delhi. He appealed to the farmers that there is also a need to be cautious with enthusiasm.
