Chandigarh: Farmers today took out a tractor march across the country including Haryana-Punjab, demanding 13 demands including Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops. Its effect was seen more in the districts of both the states, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ambala, Jind, Rohtak, Karnal, etc.

Farmers have come out with tractors, and are continuously raising slogans against the Government of India. They surrounded the residence of Minister Anil Vij in Ambala. Apart from this, the BJP office was also surrounded here. However, the security was tight during this time, so the farmers were not allowed to come much ahead.

Apart from this, the houses of BJP leader Jagdeep Singh Nakai in Rampura Phul and BJP leader Taranjit Singh Sandhu Samudra in Amritsar were also surrounded. The tractor march was completed peacefully in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and other places. For some time, the farmers raised slogans in front of the malls. After this they started tractor march.

Earlier, the announcement to take out this tractor march was jointly made by the United Kisan Morcha (non-political), Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and United Kisan Morcha, who were protesting at Shambhu and Khanauri border.

Here, today is the 62nd day of the hunger strike of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal who is on a hunger strike at Khanauri border. After administering glucose and taking medical treatment, his health is improving.

In a show of strength against the government, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM – non-political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Morcha held tractor marches nationwide on the occasion of Republic Day. Farmer leader Tejveer Singh announced that approximately 200 locations in Punjab would witness tractor marches, with around 150 tractors participating at each site. Meanwhile, on Sunday, farmer leader Jagjeet Singh Dallewal continued his hunger strike into its 62nd day.

The leaders criticized the government for prioritizing corporate interests over farmers’ welfare, asserting that it is time to end the neglect of farmers in the country. They demanded the enactment of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee law to prevent farmer suicides. The leaders confirmed that protests will continue at the borders, with a major gathering planned on February 13 to mark one year of the ongoing protests, where farmer leaders from across the country will address the gathered crowds and discuss future strategies.
