Rajasthan: A tragic incident occurred in Barmer, Rajasthan, where a four-year-old boy named Naresh lost his life after falling into a borewell on Wednesday evening. The accident took place in Arjun ki Dhani, located in the Gudhamalani area, while Naresh was playing near his home.
Upon learning of the incident, local authorities and police swiftly initiated a rescue operation. After nearly three hours, they managed to retrieve the boy from the borewell, which was approximately 150 feet deep, but unfortunately, he had already died by that time. Reports indicate that Naresh was trapped at a depth of around 100 feet in an old borewell filled with water.
At the time of the accident, Naresh’s father, Pappu Ram, was working as a driver in Punjab and rushed back to Barmer upon receiving the news. A rescue team led by Madharam, a local expert in makeshift rescue techniques, employed various tools, including PVC pipes, ropes, and wires, to attempt the rescue. The Barmer Superintendent of Police, Narendra Singh Meena, was also present to oversee the operation.
In addition to local efforts, teams from private companies Vedanta and Weatherford Company arrived to assist, utilizing borescope technology to assess the depth at which Naresh was trapped. Various techniques were employed in the hope of saving him. This incident follows a previous case in September, where a two-year-old girl was rescued from a pit near a borewell in Dausa, Rajasthan, after a 20-hour operation.
