Punjab: After a heavy storm struck Punjab on Sunday evening, torrential rains and strong winds disrupted normal life across the state, causing widespread electricity and water supply outages in several regions.
The intense weather led to power cuts and water shortages, leaving many areas in near blackout conditions as authorities scrambled to restore essential services.
The India Meteorological Department had issued an Orange Alert for several districts, including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Jalandhar, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
In addition to power outages, the heavy rains caused significant waterlogging and disrupted water supply systems.
