Himachal: chances of snowfall for 2 days; cold wave alert in 5 districts

Shimla: Western Disturbance (WD) will be active in Himachal Pradesh from tonight. Due to this, there is a forecast of good rain and snowfall tomorrow and day after tomorrow. Especially, a warning has been issued regarding snowfall for 23 January.

There is a possibility of more snowfall in Lahaul Spiti, Shimla, Sirmaur and Kinnaur districts. The weather will be clear across the state from January 24 and the sun will shine till January 27.

Cold wave alert in 5 districts

The Meteorological (IMD) Center Shimla has issued a yellow alert of cold wave in the plains on January 23. This warning has been given to Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Mandi and Kangra districts.

Possibility of snowfall in high areas today

According to IMD, light rain and snowfall may occur in the higher areas of the state even today. Light rain and snowfall will occur only in some areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti districts. There is a forecast of sunshine in other places.

Plains have become colder than Shimla

Before the rain and snowfall, the temperature has increased. The mercury of many cities has increased by 8 degrees compared to normal. The minimum temperature of Keylong has increased by 8.1 degrees above normal.

The minimum temperature of Shimla has also increased to 8.8 degrees with 5.7 degrees more than normal, Sundar has increased to 9.0 degrees with 6.2 degrees more than normal, Manali has increased to 6.2 degrees Celsius with 7.5 degrees more.

Minimum and maximum temperature is more than normal

The average minimum temperature of the state is also 3.9 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature is also 2.8 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature of Keylong has increased to 10.5 degrees more than normal.
