Shimla: In the presence of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, an MoU was signed on Tuesday between the Transport Department and two companies to enhance facilities in the five green corridors identified by the state government.
Under this, Jio-BP Company will develop Mandi-Jogindernagar Pathankot as well as the Kiratpur-Manali-Kelang Green Corridor, while EVI Technology Company will develop Parwanoo-Una-Sansarpur Terrace-Nurpur and Parwanoo, Shimla-Reckongpeo-Losar Green Corridor within a year.
Electroweb Company will develop the Shimla-Hamirpur-Chamba Green Corridor. On these five green corridors, the companies will set up EV charging stations, way-side facilities and supermarkets at 41 locations within a year. The Chief Minister said that charging facilities for e-buses, e-trucks and other e-vehicles will be available at these 41 locations.
Along with this, facilities like toilets and restaurants will also be available at these locations. He said that the companies will provide about Rs 75 lakh per year as lease money to the state government. Himachal is being developed as a model state for e-vehicles. The MoU was signed by Director Transport Department DC Negi on behalf of the state government, while Rahul Soni on behalf of EVI Technology and Avinash Sharma on behalf of Jio BP Company. Principal Secretary RD Nazim and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
