Heavy rains trigger landslides, flash flood alerts in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, June 29: Heavy rains have been occurring in most parts of Himachal Pradesh since last night. Due to this, incidents of landslides are being seen at many places. This morning, debris fell from the hill near Chakki Mode on the Chandigarh-Shimla four-lane. After this, traffic was affected and movement is taking place from one side.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a fresh bulletin and issued a flash-flood alert in 10 districts till 5.30 am tomorrow. This warning has been issued in all other districts except Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti. In view of this, the people of the state have been advised to be cautious, stay away from rivers and streams, and not go to landslide prone areas.

It has been raining heavily since last night, a tree fell on 2 vehicles in Shimla

Heavy rain has been continuing for the last 8 hours in many parts of Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra and Mandi. Due to this, incidents of landslides are being witnessed at many places in the suburbs of Shimla.

A tree fell on two vehicles after rain near Bells Institute on Shimla’s Panthaghati-Junga road this morning. Both the vehicles have suffered heavy damage. A landslide also occurred in the morning on the road connecting Shimla’s Bhattakufar-Chamiyana Hospital.

Due to this the road was closed for vehicles. Due to this the patients going to the super speciality hospital are facing problems. Two houses are in danger due to the collapse of a dam near the mist chamber of Khalini in Shimla.

Orange alert in 6 districts today

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur districts for the whole day today. There is a yellow alert in Chamba, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla districts. There is also an orange alert for heavy rain in Bilaspur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur on Monday, June 30.

Rain in these districts on July 1

There will be a yellow alert in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi on Tuesday, July 1. There is a forecast of rain in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Solan on July 2.
