Jalandhar: The Municipal Corporation and the police together took action against the house of drug smuggler Kulwant Sahota and demolished his house in Upkar Nagar. The Municipal Corporation took this step after issuing notices several times. Four cases of drug smuggling are registered against Kulwant Sahota and he is currently out on bail.
ACP Central Amandeep Singh said that the Municipal Corporation had sought protection from the police to take action against illegal encroachments. For this, about 50 employees were deployed on the spot. On Tuesday, the team reached the spot and demolished the house.
ACP said- action was taken for not responding to the notice
ACP Central Amandeep Singh further said- This action was taken by sealing the area. Municipal Corporation ATP Harvinder Singh said that this house was built illegally on a government road. Earlier also two notices were issued to him, but Kulwant did not give any explanation of the notice. After this, this action has been taken under the guidance of the duty magistrate.
