J&K: Drug peddlers’ properties worth 4.3 crore attached in Anantnag

Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Police, continuing their crackdown on drug traffickers, attached properties worth Rs 4.3 crore in Anantnag district on Saturday. The police action is part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.

According to a police statement, five residential houses and three vehicles were seized under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The attached properties include a single-storied house of Reyaz Ahmad Dar from Hassanpora Tawella, involved in multiple NDPS cases, a double-storied house of Mohammad Yousuf Reshi linked to a major narcotics recovery, Subzar Ahmad Mir’s single-storied property in Hassanpora Tawella, Mohammad Shafi Dar’s double-storied house from Tulkhan Bijbehara, and a residential house of Abdul Hamid Chopan, a habitual offender from Malpora Ranipora.

The vehicles seized are a Santro car registered to Mohammad Shafi Dar, a WagonR owned by Manzoor Ahmad Mantoo from Waghama Bijbehara, and a Toyota Corolla registered to Rahul Singh of New Delhi.

This decisive action is aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks and holding offenders accountable. By targeting the properties and assets of those involved, the J&K Police intend to disrupt the financial base of drug networks and discourage further illegal activities. They emphasize their commitment to creating a drug-free society and urge public support for their mission.
