Looking forward to working closely together once again, PM Modi tells Trump

New Delhi: In a recent telephonic conversation, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his eagerness to collaborate once more with US President-elect Donald Trump, who won the Presidential elections against Kamala Harris. PM Modi took to social media to congratulate Trump on his impressive win and emphasized the importance of strengthening India-US relations in various fields, including technology, defense, energy, and space.

Sources indicate that both leaders are committed to working together for global peace, with Trump noting that the world holds PM Modi in high regard and praising India as a magnificent nation with Modi as a remarkable leader. Trump also remarked that PM Modi was one of the first world leaders he contacted after his election victory.

PM Modi previously congratulated Trump on his electoral success through a social media post, expressing his desire to renew their collaboration to enhance the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. He stated that they should work together for the welfare of their citizens and promote global peace and stability.

Trump has vowed to bolster the “great partnership” with India and PM Modi in his second term, building on the close relationship established during his first term. His familiarity with India dates back to his business ventures in the country, which provided him with a unique perspective on India compared to other US politicians.

During his presidency, Trump developed a strong bond with PM Modi, often referring to him as a friend. Modi was among the first foreign leaders to congratulate Trump on his election victory. The two leaders have showcased their friendship in significant events like the ‘Howdy Modi’ rally in Houston and the ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Ahmedabad, both of which attracted massive crowds. Trump has expressed admiration for Modi’s ability to draw large audiences both in India and the U.S.
