Mumbai: The controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent continues, with legal battles still ongoing for comedian Samay Raina, podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, and other panelists. Amid the uproar, singer Mika Singh has shared his opinion on the matter, calling Ranveer’s participation in the show his “biggest mistake.”
In a recent interview with leading news portal Mika Singh stated that he has no personal issues with Samay Raina, acknowledging his talent and popularity. He also praised Ranveer Allahbadia, describing him as a “gracious and poised” individual. However, he criticised Ranveer’s decision to appear on India’s Got Latent, saying, “Their shows are very different. Ranveer’s show is usually decent and respectful, while Samay’s has a different audience. If he had not gone there, this issue wouldn’t have arisen.”
Mika also condemned the inappropriate comments made on the show, arguing that public figures should set the right example. “More vulgar things have been said on Samay’s show, but in a country like India, such remarks can be hurtful. Just because Samay has succeeded, others should not try to emulate him in this way,” he remarked.
Suggesting that artists should face temporary bans to ensure accountability, Mika added, “They couldn’t handle their success. Their families should not be dragged into this, but banning them for some time would serve as a lesson for others. These are young individuals who became successful, and I urge people to forgive them.”
The controversy erupted after a clip from India’s Got Latent went viral, in which Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, asked a contestant an inappropriate question. The episode also featured content creators such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija.
