MP CM Mohan Yadav performs 'Govardhan Puja' at CM residence in Bhopal

On Saturday, Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, celebrated ‘Govardhan Puja’ at his residence in Bhopal, offering greetings to the state’s residents. During the festivities, he also fed cows at a gaushala located on the CM House grounds.

CM Yadav emphasized the significance of culture in our festive traditions, stating that every celebration reveals the mysteries of life and offers joy. He described Diwali as particularly important for farmers, highlighting India’s agricultural roots and the deep connections between people and cows, which exemplify coexistence.

He referred to cows as the “mother of the world,” asserting that India’s progress and history have been closely tied to cattle, with the dairy industry serving as a crucial component of economic growth. “Cow worship has always been a focus of our sages,” he remarked, noting that the Madhya Pradesh government is actively engaged in cattle protection efforts. Citing the 2019 cattle census, he indicated that Madhya Pradesh ranks third in the country with over 1.39 crore cattle, aiming to reach the top position and expand the number of gaushalas in the state, along with increasing financial support for cattle initiatives.

CM Yadav highlighted the significant role that cattle play in boosting farmers’ incomes, asserting that his government is dedicated to promoting cow rearing through the animal husbandry department. He expressed confidence that the government is making significant strides in this area.

He stated that he performed worship both at his residence and at a government event for Govardhan Puja. In the first year of a plan to establish a large gaushala in every municipal corporation, particular attention has been given to Ujjain, Indore, Bhopal, and Gwalior. Yadav expressed satisfaction that all gaushalas are functioning effectively under the oversight of sages, and he extended his wishes to everyone for a happy Govardhan Puja.
