Bhopal: The sixth Regional Industry Conclave (RIC) aimed at fostering investment in Madhya Pradesh kicked off in Narmadapuram on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State Cabinet Minister Rakesh Singh, and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.
During the event, CM Yadav conducted the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony for upcoming projects in the Narmadapuram division, which includes Betul and Harda districts. He also laid the groundwork for new manufacturing units focused on electrical and renewable energy equipment in Mohasa-Babai, Narmadapuram, and provided land allotment letters to various companies.
The conclave has attracted over 4,000 industrialists, including 3,000 representatives from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as 75 prominent investors. Delegations from countries like Canada, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Malaysia are also participating.
Discussions will cover the state’s industrial policy, investment incentives, and opportunities for MSMEs, featuring various sector-focused sessions. CM Yadav plans to have individual meetings with investors to review their proposals, followed by a round table on the renewable energy sector. Other topics include exporting and investment opportunities in tourism.
Narmadapuram, recognized for its religious, natural, and cultural significance, is emerging as a new industrial hub. This conclave, themed ‘New Horizons, New Possibilities’, emphasizes key sectors, including agriculture, dairy, food processing, renewable energy, tourism, and textiles. Dignitaries such as Rajya Sabha MP Maya Narolia and MP Darshan Singh Chaudhary were also in attendance.
Previous RICs were held in Jabalpur, Gwalior, Sagar, Ujjain, Indore, and Rewa, resulting in over Rs 75,000 crore in investment proposals received by the state government.
