Himachal Bhawan in U.T Chandigarh

Himachal Pradesh: New Himachal Bhawan will be built in Union Territory Chandigarh too. For this, the state government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Personnel Department, Dr. Amandeep Garg. It also has officers from the General Administration Department. This committee will finalize the land after the election code of conduct.

Till now about three locations are in the focus of this committee. If land is not found in UT Chandigarh city, then land will be searched outside the city. Earlier, the state government had decided to build another Himachal Bhawan in Delhi along with Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan. Under this, land was purchased in Dwarka and the work of building a new Himachal Bhavan with a capacity of 150 rooms is in progress there. So far, leases for four floors have been laid and the work is expected to be completed by next year. After this, there will be adequate facilities for the people going from Himachal to Delhi. Similar facility is needed in Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Himachal Bhawan currently has only 49 rooms and out of these only 31 are with the General Administration Department. Tourism Development Corporation is running 18 rooms. After a long time, contruction work has started in Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh. An amount of about Rs 1.5 crore has been approved by the state government. Will change the look of all rooms. Along with this, tenders have been issued for installing new lifts in Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh and this work will also start after the election code of conduct. The state government has directed that modern facilities should be provided in Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh. There are still old-fashioned keys to lock the doors. Work in this regard is starting as soon as the election code of conduct is lifted.
