Jalandhar: The police of Phillaur police station in Jalandhar Rural have achieved a great success by arresting the dangerous gangster Sukhdeep Singh alias Matti along with drugs and weapons.

As per the directions of Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Honorable Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar Rural, under the special campaign launched against bad elements and drug smugglers, the team of Inspector Sanjeev Kapoor, Chief Officer of Phillaur police station, under the leadership of Mr. Sarabjit Rai PPS, Police Captain, Investigation, Jalandhar Rural and Mr. Sarwan Singh Bal, PPS Deputy Superintendent of Police Sub Division Phillaur, has achieved a great success by arresting the gangster Sukhdeep Singh alias Matti. Giving information to the press in this regard, Mr. Sarwan Singh Bal, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sub Division Phillaur said that under the special operation “War against Drugs” launched by the team of Inspector Sanjeev Kapoor, Chief Officer, Police Station Phillaur, drug smuggler/gangster Sukhdeep Singh alias Matti, son of Naranjan Singh, resident of village Chokran, Police Station Phillaur, district Jalandhar, was arrested and 31 grams of heroin, 100 narcotic pills, 01 pistol 32 bore with magazine and 07 rounds alive and 2,00,000/- drug money were recovered from his possession and case number 154 dated 23.05.2025 Crime 21/22-NDPS Act 25/54/59 Arms Act was arrested in Police Station Phillaur. 

During the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that 18 cases have been registered against Sukhdeep Singh alias Matti under various sections and he had started selling heroin and narcotic pills by bringing heroin from the border area at cheap prices. He has been remanded in police custody and is being interrogated about other incidents.
