‘Panchayat 4’ to ‘Matka King’: Most anticipated web series of 2025

Mumbai: In recent times, OTT platforms have emerged as the primary source for content consumption, offering viewers a diverse range of stories from around the world.

Some web series have gained immense popularity, and fans eagerly await their new seasons. Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated web series set to release in 2025.

“Panchayat 4”
“Panchayat” has captured the hearts of many with its first three seasons, and now the creators are preparing to launch Season 4. According to an official announcement from Prime Video, it will be available in 2025. The cast includes Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sanvikaa, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, Faisal Malik, and Sunita Rajwar.

“Paatal lok 2”
The acclaimed crime thriller “Paatal Lok,” directed by Sudip Sharma and released in 2020, is returning for a second season in January 2025. Familiar faces like Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, and Gul Panag will reprise their roles, joined by newcomers such as Tillotama Shome, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Jahnu Barua. Avinash Arun Dhaware will direct the new season, produced by Clean Slate Filmz and Eunoia Films LLP.

“The Family Man 3”
Manoj Bajpayee will return as Srikant Tiwari in the highly-anticipated third season of “The Family Man.” Alongside him, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Ashlesha Thakur, and Vedant Sinha will reprise their roles, with Gul Panag joining the cast. Although the release date has not yet been announced, the series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

“The Trials Season 2”
Kajol will return as lawyer Noyonika Sengupta in “The Trials 2,” directed by Suparn Varma. The show, inspired by “The Good Wife,” is expected to be released on Disney Plus in February 2025.

“Matka King”
Generating significant buzz, “Matka King” features Vijay Verma in the lead role, focusing on a cotton trader in Mumbai who invents a new gambling game called Matka. The cast also includes Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, and Gulshan Grover, with Nagraj Manjule directing the series produced by Roy Kapur Films.

“Black Warrant”
Zahan Kapoor, grandson of Shashi Kapoor, is set to make his acting debut in Vikramaditya Motwane’s “Black Warrant,” which will be released on January 10. The film is based on the book “Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer” by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury, and Zahan plays a jailer in Tihar.

“Dabba Cartel”
For fans of women-centric narratives, Hitesh Bhatia’s “Dabba Cartel” is set in 1960s Mumbai and tells the story of five housewives running a secret high-stakes cartel. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment, it stars Shalini Pandey, Shabana Azmi, Akashdeep Singh, Jyotika, Jisshu Sengupta, and Gajraj Rao.

“Rakht Bramhand: The Bloody Kingdom”
Raj & DK’s upcoming fantasy drama “Rakht Bramhand” features a star-studded cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, known for “Tumbbad,” the series is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
