PM Modi, Kharge extend warm wishes on Christmas, highlight peace, unity

New Delhi: On Christmas Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge shared heartfelt greetings, emphasizing the themes of compassion, peace, and unity.

PM Modi took to X to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, reflecting on the teachings of Jesus Christ. He stated, “May the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ guide everyone towards peace and prosperity.” He also shared a video from his recent visit to a Christmas event organized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, where he highlighted the importance of Jesus’ teachings on compassion and selfless service. Modi expressed that remembering Jesus inspires individuals to embrace these values, which he sees as a personal responsibility, a social obligation, and a national duty. He reiterated the commitment to the spirit of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Prayas,’ emphasizing the need for collective efforts to strengthen love, harmony, and brotherhood.

Similarly, Mallikarjun Kharge conveyed his Christmas wishes, focusing on themes of forgiveness, service, and compassion. He wrote on X, “I extend warm wishes on Christmas, a celebration of forgiveness, peace, and unity.” Kharge highlighted that the festival commemorating Jesus Christ’s birth calls for embracing ideals of sacrifice, service, redemption, and friendship. He concluded by expressing hope that the festivities would bring a new era of hope, happiness, and prosperity for all, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
