PM Modi leads nation in paying tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee

New Delhi: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, marking his 100th birth anniversary.

PM Modi shared his respects on X, stating, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his 100th birth anniversary. He devoted his life to creating a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India. His vision will continue to inspire our commitment to a developed India.”

In a video message, Modi emphasized the importance of Vajpayee’s legacy, noting that the day is also celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day.’ He explained that good governance should be viewed as a service rather than an expression of power.

He encouraged citizens to embrace their responsibilities, saying, “On this Good Governance Day and in memory of Atalji, we must strive to achieve our goals. This is what the public expects, and it reflects the lessons Atal Bihari Vajpayee imparted to us.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored Vajpayee, describing him as a leader who initiated an era of development and good governance. Shah remarked, “Atal ji made cultural nationalism a part of work culture, prioritizing the nation’s security and public welfare. His integrity and self-discipline in politics made the BJP beloved among the masses. Like the Pole Star, Atal ji will forever guide our citizens in national service.”

BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda praised Vajpayee’s impact on Indian politics, saying, “Revered Atal Ji elevated the standards of integrity and service in our political landscape. His role in establishing India as a global superpower is unforgettable.” He described Vajpayee’s life as an inspiration and noted that ‘Good Governance Day’ reflects his commitment to comprehensive national development.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid his respects, calling Vajpayee “a cornerstone of independent Indian politics.” Singh noted, “Atal ji set new benchmarks in both politics and diplomacy, dedicating his life to building a strong and prosperous India. His contributions to India’s progress are immeasurable. Today, on his 100th birth anniversary, I offer my humble tribute.”

Vajpayee, celebrated as a statesman and visionary, served as India’s Prime Minister three times and played a crucial role in shaping modern India. His leadership continues to inspire millions across the country.
