Chandigarh, July 7: The Punjab government has called a cabinet meeting at the CM residence in Chandigarh at 6 pm today. Earlier this meeting was to be held at 10:30 am, but the time was changed.
The reason for this was not given, but it is believed that the time was changed due to the program of CM Bhagwant Mann and party chief Arvind Kejriwal in Mohali.
Key focus of the meeting
In this meeting, strategies for the assembly session to be held on July 10 will be discussed. Also, preparations for the by-election on the Tarn Taran seat can also be on the agenda, as the seat has become vacant due to the death of the MLA there.
The government is taking this by-election seriously, so that it can strengthen its path to a big victory in the 2027 assembly elections, even though it has more than 95 MLAs at present.
Minister Arora’s first meeting
This is the first cabinet meeting of industrialist Sanjeev Arora, who became a minister after winning the Ludhiana by-election. While taking charge, Arora had said that his focus is on the development of Punjab. He also said that building an exhibition center in Ludhiana is a long-standing demand of the people, and he will get this initiative approved soon.
